Why “Troubleshoot” Your Life?
Troubleshooting is a term usually reserved for technical disciplines; most people hear the term in conjunction with computers or electronics. However, as defined in the dictionary, it is simply a step-by-step approach to “to discover why something does not work effectively and help to improve it.” Using a troubleshooting mindset and a mix of the tools below, together we can find what in your life isn’t “running smoothly” and figure out how to fix it!
Education
You cannot choose the best answer for a problem without enough information about possible solutions. I believe it is important to take off my coaching hat at certain times to provide my clients with education on topics I am well-versed in, particularly with career transitions and health & wellness.
Mentorship
I have my own life experience with the things on which I coach others. If a client’s goals align with my journey, I am happy to offer my story and strategies that worked for me. I think a personal connection with someone who has similar struggles can help others see they are not alone.
Coaching
Coaching is about asking thought-provoking, powerful questions to guide clients in finding their true motivations. It is focused on the future, not the past. Using these insights, I can help you determine how to move forward. You are the expert on your life and only you can chart your path to success.
My Philosophy
As a creative, right-brained person who ended up in computer engineering, I found myself using my troubleshooting mindset from work to solve non-technical, emotionally-driven problems in my personal life.
For years I struggled with self-confidence and an ambivalence about my health. After working with therapists and coaches, I learned a lot but I often felt frustrated. Therapy gave me answers about my past with few strategies to overcome it; coaching asked too many questions with no accounting of how I got to my current situation. This led me to cultivating my own philosophy of self-help using practical psychological hacks and radical self-acceptance. I started to think of the “bad” parts of my personality as things I just needed to find a work-around for, similar to the constraints of a computer. I started viewing each issue in my life as something that could be resolved if I put better systems in place. I became more skilled at asking the right questions to find those systems that would work for me. I got help along the way as needed, and now I hope I can be that person for you!

Testimonials

We had such a fun and enjoyable time working together! I can totally feel your passion for your career and your love for people around you. I also feel incredibly grateful for having you as my coach, as you are such a genuine, supportive, helpful, and generous person!
It was a joy to speak with someone like myself in the sense of having both one foot in the “humanities” and one foot in the technology sector/business. I gained a lot of insight about how to market/sell myself. You’ve helped me realize how a little experience can go a long way in determining one’s career trajectory.
I like that you let me go on to explain the context of what I’m trying to navigate. When you interrupted with questions, I didn’t feel like I was cut off. I’m still a little skeptical about coaching, but I think it was beneficial. There were a couple of realizations I came away with that surprised me.
